Affiliate Ad Rotator is the latest joint product from Dave Nicholson and John Thornhill. It is a membership based product with a special launch price of $7.95 per month. Personally I believe this is a bargain for such a powerful tool for any affiliate marketer out there, from the most experienced right down to the very beginners.

It's a beautifully simple concept that allows you to display the best selling ClickBank products as images that constantly update. These are perfect for thank you pages, blogs, download pages, in fact just about any web page that receives traffic. I'd highly recommend you check out how easy to use and powerful this software is.

The more experienced affiliate marketers will benefit from this tool as it will allow them to take out some of the stress of creating affiliate ads, or having them created for you. This is a program which can be ran on 100% autopilot and will leave you free to get on with the more challenging aspects of the affiliate marketing world.

For beginners this is also a hugely beneficial tool to boost their own affiliate marketing business, mainly because it is so simple to use that you need virtually no experience in working with ClickBank at all.

Furthermore, there is no complicated HTML code to worry about or confusing programs to follow, you simply check boxes which help you decide which niche and which products you would like to promote. Then all you have to do is enter your ClickBank ID and the amount of ads you want to display on your page. The ease of use is perhaps the most appealing part of this program as it can be put into action this very instant regardless of your skill level.

I particularly like the way you can select the best selling products on ClickBank and that are constantly updated so you know you are promoting the latest, best selling products on complete autopilot.

All you need to get started is your own ClickBank ID and a webpage, not many other products out there can guarantee to have you up and running with so little tools at your disposal and for such a small price.

So what do you receive for your investment? How is this content delivered? Well, as mentioned above, this is a membership site with a recurring monthly fee. So for your money you will gain lifetime access to the membership area via your own login and password, allowing you to create your own ClickBank affiliate ads right away.

This product also offers a 60 day money back guarantee meaning that there is no risk at all for the purchaser, if you aren’t happy with your purchase, simply request a refund and receive 100% of your money back, no questions asked.

All in all this product is an extremely easy to use and powerful tool for the price you pay and I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is part of the affiliate marketing niche and with the added security of a money back guarantee its a no-brainer.

If you want to find out more simply visit the link below and you can watch a video that will show you how powerful and easy to use this software is.

To all writers and non-writers out there, now is the time to start digging up
those creative writing skills back.

With modern communication technology
comes the popularity of information-based marketing, which is one of the oldest
and most effective techniques in getting targeted prospects to sites and
converting them into buyers. This is why article writing, submissions and
publications are also getting popular.

There are already many tools that
people can use to make the process of distributing their articles more easily.
Though this is invaluable in getting the contents more exposure, which is only
half of the story.

Let us take a look first at the common mistakes that
some people make before submitting their contents to article
directories:

1. Confusing the reason to promote the articles with the
reason to write them.

In article writing, there are three key benefits
why you are promoting them; branding, lead generation and promotion, which are
all part of your optimization efforts.

But there is only one reason why
you write an article, and that is to inform your audience. If the article is not
focused on this primary and most important purpose, it will fail to achieve the
three promotion benefits because no one will be interested in reading
them.

You need to figure out first how to get people to read what is in
your article, then make them click on your resource box. You can achieve this by
producing better contents.

2. Failing to maximize the promotional
opportunities of article marketing.

You may know already that your
articles can help you generate additional links back to your site. But do you
know that you can get more visitors and better search engine results from that
same articles?

Mention keywords at strategic places. Just be sure not to
overdo them. Some are even using anchor texts which is also an effective method.
But it is important to know that majority of the directories are not able to
support this.

Remember that is not only about the links back to your
site. Part of doing well in your article marketing is getting picked up by
publishers with a large number of audiences and gaining the ability of
leveraging other brands because of the quality of your work. Better search
engine results also are great benefits.

But these things do not put much
money in your pocket. There are other factors that can turn your article
marketing efforts into an opportunity that can boost your earnings. Not just
increase the number of visitors to your site.

Start out with a plan and see to it that your article will serve the function
that you intended it to have.

3. Publishing content that does not help
your readers.

Maybe in the process of writing articles, you are thinking
that all that is you wanted is links back to your site. And any visitors it can
generate are fine.

Guess what? Not all article banks and directories are
going to accept your content automatically. Oftentimes, they have some
guidelines and specifications on the articles that they are accepting.

You can double the number of sites you can submit to by writing articles
that the directories want to share with other people. All it takes is one
publisher with a hundred thousand readers to increase your potential audience
overnight.

Write the articles that publishers want in their publications
if you want your article marketing to work the most effective way for you. This
also means you have to obey the standard guidelines, spell checks, researching
on a good topic and even hiring a writer to produce a good content on your
behalf.

In the end, it is all really a matter of choice on your part. You
can start getting a little exposure from increased links back but on a very
basic level. Or enjoy massive exposure from a little extra time making quality
contents.

It will be your choice. You may not be aware of the fact that
an article submitted on directories is not meant to have the same level of
exposure as highly-targeted content ones geared on a narrow group of people.

Learn the difference between these two and it will surely help you know
what kinds of articles to write and to submit.
Numerous organizations are presently making it feasible for a portion of their representatives to work from home instead of working in the workplace. Working from home can be exceptionally useful particularly for the representative who has youthful youngsters still at home.

A portion of the advantages of work from home incorporate saving money on gas, saving money on tyke care or after school care costs, and having the capacity to complete your work regardless of whether you have a tyke home wiped out from school, just to give some examples.

Working from home isn't generally as simple as it sounds however. Keeping in mind the end goal to telecommute you need a home office set up to oblige the majority of your working needs. This incorporates a PC, PC work area and seat, a different telephone line from your home telephone to use for business purposes, a fax machine for anything that should be faxed into work, and a printer for anything you have to print off and reclaim into the workplace.

Your home office should be private and calm with the goal that you have next to zero diversion from your family, and furthermore be private and calm so your work doesn't turn into a diversion to your family. In the event that your activity requests carefulness then it would be a smart thought to make a family decide that nobody is permitted in your office while your are working.

More often than not, working from home gives you the chance to work adaptable hours as opposed to a set calendar, however you have to ensure that you don't underestimate this opportunity or your work may begin to endure, and this won't be adequate to your supervisor.

Endeavor to keep up a fairly set work routine. This may take some training however it tends to be finished. On the off chance that you guessed work something like eight hours per day, have a go at working four hours, at that point enjoy a reprieve and complete working the most recent four hours.

In the event that you are working from home, attempt to keep a period record of the hours you work every day. Monitor any breaks you may take and any extra time you may work. Transform this into your supervisor toward the finish of every week to demonstrate to them how you deal with your chance while working at home.

This enables them to see regardless of whether working at home is a decent business choice for you, and in addition demonstrating to you any enhancements you should need to set aside a few minutes administration.

In conclusion, on the off chance that you are working from home, ensure that your loved ones know your work hours so you won't get consistent work disturbance from a ringing telephone or somebody dropping by unannounced for a visit.
Before you walk away from your job to work full-time from home, one of the most
critical pieces of information you need to know is how financially stable you
are and how long you will be able to survive without a weekly pay check.

Here are 5 easy steps to help you plan wisely.

It doesn't have to be unpleasant or messy,
but it does have to be done. You may be well on your way to building a full-time
home-based business or may just be tossing the idea around right now, but having
a clear understanding of your current and future financial commitments will play
a MAJOR role in your strategic plan for business success.

Home-based
business owners don't normally wake up one day and say, "Yep. I'm quitting my
job today and starting a home-based business." There is usually a period of time
for contemplation, exploration, making the decision, creating a plan, and then
starting to execute steps within the plan to achieve the final goal.

The
process can take anywhere from several months to several years before an
employee is in a position to walk away from her job to begin life as a full-time
entrepreneur.

Being financially responsible is critical to not only
home-based business success, but to create the financial cushion required to
transition from being an employee to a full-time
entrepreneur.

Understanding your current financial position is mandatory
and doesn't have to take more than an hour of your time if you follow the five
basic steps below.

1. Calculate how much money you currently have sitting
in bank accounts, investments, registered retirement savings plans, GIC's, real
estate, etc. If you were to leave your job today, would there be any form of
payout (ie. sick plan credit, pension plan contributions, unused holidays,
anniversary pay, etc.)?

2. Determine how much you earn on a monthly basis
either through employment, child support payments, rental properties, dividends,
your existing home-based business, etc.

3. Record your monthly household
expenses. Some examples to get you started are:

- mortgage/rent
- property tax/house and mortgage insurance
- utilities
(heat/water/hydro)
- phone/cable/satellite/Internet
- yard
maintenance/snow removal
- groceries and household supplies
- vehicle
fuel, insurance and maintenance costs
- medical
- child care
- personal
care (hair/nails/clothing)
- entertainment (movies/sports/books/plays)
-
club memberships, publications, etc.

4. List your monthly business
expenses, for example:

- Internet
- phone (separate business
line)
- autoresponder
- shopping cart
- long distance
- bank
fees
- office supplies
- tools
- web hosting
- marketing
-
advertising
- part-time help
- coaching services
- shipping/postage,
etc.

5. Identify your outstanding liabilities such as:

- credit
card balances
- personal loans
- lines of credit, etc.
When you calculate your earnings and revenue on an annual basis and deduct your
personal and business expenses. How much do you have remaining at the end of the
year? Can a portion of this be put aside to build your financial
cushion?

If your current business revenue isn't enough to cover your
business and personal expenses and if you were to quit work today, how long
would you be able to survive on your other revenue sources or savings and
assets, taking into account your monthly expenses?

Have you considered
all unexpected expenditures that could arise in the next year or two?

Is
your car running on its last two cylinders?
Has your furnace almost reached
its life expectancy?
Is your vacuum cleaner starting to growl at you?
Is
your partner's job secure or do you foresee unstable times ahead?

This
exercise is by no means intended to scare or discourage. Financial stability is
an area that needs to be addressed so you can keep your feet firmly planted and
plans realistic as you build your home-based business.

Understanding
where you are and what potentially lies ahead will help you make sound financial
decisions as you plan your future.

After completing these five steps, you
may realize your dream to break free of your job might take a year longer than
expected, or you may learn that in order to move forward at a quicker pace, you
may have to bring in a partner or investor, or learn to leverage your time,
money and effort more efficiently to expedite progress.

Perhaps seeking
professional guidance on reducing debt and managing finances is in
order?

No matter what results you generate, don't let them shake your
spirit. Knowing exactly where you are financially will help you make informed,
practical decisions so you can create your ideal future.

To increase your
level of success at home-based business, make sure you have a financial advisor
and accountant as part of your success team.

Are you a risk taker? Do you like to interact with customers? Are you the
type of entrepreneur who likes to work on group projects in collaboration with
others? Or do you prefer to work alone analyzing detailed work?

A lot
of questions, but if you are going to be successful in your home based business,
the answers could be critical to your success!

Understanding your
behavioral style can help you succeed in your home based business, whether your
work requires you to talk on the telephone with vendors, meet in person with
customers, work with others to deliver your products or communicate over the
Internet. Every style has strengths and limitations. And strengths if overused,
can be weaknesses.

Most people have a primary behavioral style that is
their natural approach to how they tend to respond or behave in certain
situations. The DISC® model provides a quick and easy way for determining your
behavioral style. Most people are unaware of their behavioral style, yet their
close friends, family members and even co-workers can often tell what motivates
them. Getting in touch with what motivates you as an entrepreneur and what
motivates your customers is an important tool for a home-based business. It can
impact your bottom line and provide direction in all that you do!

Here
are the four behavioral styles: “D”- is the dominant or the risk taking style.
If you are a “D” you are likely to prefer entrepreneurial pursuits where you can
lead projects and present new ideas. You will have no trouble contacting the CEO
of a major company and scheduling an appointment. You might have a tendency to
be a bit heavy handed and if you’re not careful, you could chase some customers
away. The “I” style is the people oriented style, motivated by recognition and
interaction with others. If you are an “I” you will be great at marketing your
business and persuading customers to buy your products. You may even get your
foot in to door with a customer when your product or idea is not well thought
out and this could cause you to lose a sale. The “S” is the Steadiness or team
player style that tends to be cooperative and prefers to work in settings with
others.

If you are an “S” style you will excel in projects that provide
clear steps and processes that are sequential. You will do well with customers
who like your dependability and you calming reassuring nature. You may be
challenged with changes to your processes or your projects and you may have to
work harder when responding to changes. If you are a “C”, you are analytical and
logical.
You are reserved and business like in your demeanor and are quite
comfortable working alone. Your customers will appreciate your attention to
detail and the high quality of your work. You may
be challenged with in
person meetings or criticism of your work and you will need to take care to meet
customer deadlines.

Because most home based businesses are operated by
sole proprietors or micro businesses, understanding your behavioral style is a
quick and easy way to get real feedback that will forever change your business
life! When you are in touch with your behavioral style you will learn what
motivates you, become more aware of your own style preferences and biases, and
understand how you react when you are frustrated or under stress. Moreover, you
will be able to learn how to communicate more effectively to meet the style
preferences of your customers, your business partners and your
vendors.

So what style are you? What about your customers? If you have a
home based business and or have a business that is operated primarily on the
internet, it will be critical for you to adapt your ads and even your website,
to appeal to the several behavioral styles mostly likely to be reflected in that
environment.

Because most of us have a combination of styles, to
determine your overall behavioral profile, you should take an online assessment.
Once you learn your real style, you are in a much better position to gauge
others and align your business accordingly.

Knowing your behavioral style
and how your tendencies impact the way you conduct your home based business will
be critical to your success or failure.
So, you've decided to start a home based business. Congratulations! and welcome to the fast-paced world of entrepreneurship. While there is a lot to learn, your effort will be worth it. The thrill of growing your business, the freedom and flexibility to set your own hours, and the possibilities of ever-increasing financial rewards are all wonderful reasons to start your home based business.

Now that you've decided to start your business, you might be wondering "How can I get it off to the strongest possible start?"

These seven tips will help:

1) Set up a separate working space in your home.
It doesn't matter if this is a small bedroom, one part of the garage, or a corner of the living room. The important thing is to have some space that you can designate as your working area. This will give you the space and room you need to craft your dream.

2) Stock your working space with materials.
This sounds basic, perhaps, but one underlying element of success is that you have easy access to the tools, materials, and other resources you need. Gathering everything close by also keeps you from wasting time searching for it, so this step can be considered a time management strategy, too.

3) Speaking of time management, your third step is to define the parameters of your business.
What days and hours will you work? When will you market? When will you provide services or products to clients? How will you keep all of this straight?

4) Balance action with planning.
One of the most common pitfalls to successful entrepreneurship is getting too caught up in action without enough planning. Stated another way, this means that you confuse "being busy" with "working on important projects." The best approach is to plan your next couple of goals and then work backwards to create step by step action plans to reach them. Once you have the plan, then it's time to take the action.

5) Network like crazy.
One of the fastest ways to grow any business is to make connections with other people. Be sure to share your passion and enthusiasm with others at every opportunity. Let people know who you are and what you offer. Remember, people can't buy if they don't know you're selling.

6) Present a professional image.
If you want to be treated professionally, present a professional image. Set up a separate bank account for your business. Install a separate phone and fax line. Create professional marketing materials. Be courteous and pleasant in all your customer facing interactions. Basically, be someone people want to do business with.

7) Automate your business as much as possible.
Granted, you are just one person (right now) and might have a lot of extra time to take care of all the details. This might work for now, but won't work into the future as you get busier and busier. It's best to set up automatic systems and processes right from the start to free up your time to concentrate on the most profitable activities.

These seven tips will get your home business started (and growing) in the right direction.

Don't quit your day job just yet. If you are a baby boomer looking to start a
home based business, there are 5 essentials things you must do first.

Leaving the
security of a job with an established 401(k) plan, health insurance or other
benefits can create a real tug of war for baby boomers who want to pursue their
dreams of owning their own business.

Analyze Your Exit
Strategy
At the time of this writing, the youngest of the baby boomers
are turning 42 and the oldest are turning 60. No matter where you fall into this
group (and I am one of them), analyzing and preparing your exit strategy from
your job will be crucial to your long-term success as a home business
entrepreneur. Do you have adequate savings? If you're married, will you be able
to participate in your spouse's health insurance?

Create a
Financial Plan
How much is your salary now? What are your fixed,
variable and frivolous expenses? Creating a solid plan so that you and your
family will know exactly what the financial picture will be until your business
gets off the ground and starts generating revenue.

Choosing a
Business Model and Legal Entity
There are several business models to
choose from; home party plans, consulting, and affiliate marketing to name a
few. You have to make the decision based on your personality and what you are
best-suited for. Choosing a legal entity for your business should be discussed
with a tax accountant or your attorney. Options are sole proprietor, LLC or
Subchapter S- Corp.

Set Business Benchmarks
You
wouldn't travel across the country without a road map, your business is the
same. Setting financial and business-building benchmarks will help you to create
a focused plan that will help you to reach your success.

Get a
Physical
What does getting a physical have to do with your business?
Once you leave your job, most likely your health insurance will change and as
unfair as it may be, trying to get new health insurance when in your 40's, 50's
or 60's can be difficult. While pursuing your dreams of a home business is
something you are probably very passionate about, if you do not have good health
to enjoy the rewards of your efforts, then not much else is
important.

The baby boomer generation is like no other before it or after
it. Technically, we are considered middle-aged, but we are anything but
middle-aged in mind, body and spirit. We know there is more meaning to life than
a commute to an unrewarding 9-5 job, but there are also important steps we must
take first. Planning and preparing for your home business now will lead to less
headache's later on.

1 - Hustle:
Generally, people who make it big have one thing in common—they are dissatisfied with the status quo. They will not take what is “common” or “expected” and let that define their lives—they move past it and excel. You must work hard and hustle.

2 - Character:
Someone coined the phrase, “character is what you do in the dark.” In other words, when no one is looking, will you behave differently than if someone was looking? If not, then you have character. If you are attacked, be tough—not hard. Don’t be a pushover, but be compassionate, gentle, and flexible—especially on procedure (not principle).

3 - Risk Taking:
This isn’t gambling, it’s a willingness to be bold, hearty, and to push forward. People who refuse to take risks are definitely going to lose. If you refuse a new promotion because you’re not confident of your skills, you will likely be passed over when a different chance arrives.

Don’t be afraid of rejection, just take it as part of life and you’ll find there’s nothing to be afraid of—especially in the word “no.” “No” is just another opportunity to find a way around an obstacle and to use creative problem-solving skills.

4 - Time Management:
We all know that one minute has 60 seconds and that one hour has 60 minutes. One day has 24 hours, and one year has 365 days. But one year also has 525,600 minutes. We don’t think about a year in such small increments, but maybe we should.

We waste minutes as if they’ll always be around, and the fact is that time wasted is time we can never get back. We might miss a deal or promotion of a lifetime by wasting just a few minutes.

Proper time management is essential as you climb to success. Continue to break goals down in to manageable chunks—do that with relation to your day and the time you’ve been given. You’ll accomplish far more this way and you won’t regret using your time wisely.

5 - Master Non-Verbal Communication:
It is said that our body language and facial expressions do much more communicating than our words will ever do. When the words that you speak don’t match the expressions on your face or the stance of your body, you confuse the listener and muddle your message.

Be aware that when you try to “multi-task,” you often end up short-changing something, and the last thing you want is to short-change people. Don’t try to do too much at once—your willingness to do this tells people they aren’t important, even if you’re expressing your appreciation of their work and effort.

Be aware of what message your body is sending off!

Be honest with yourself. Are you one of those people that believe that you just don’t have the time to get your home business up and running? You’re not alone. Many people I talk to claim they have too much to do and not enough time to do it. They wind up defeating themselves and their business looses momentum and suffers.

Full time jobs, family obligations, maintaining health and too many other distractions are the main reasons for not building momentum for their business. You can wind up feeling that your life is spent catering to every one else’s obligations.

However, I have some good news! You can find and maximize time to build momentum for your home business. All you need is to find time and commit to use that time for your home business only. Try the following strategies to make your home based business flourish.

1. Document Your Daily Routine
The first thing you will need to do find a quiet place and write down your schedule. Document the start and end time on events like getting ready for work, driving your kids to school, your commute to your day job, gym time and any other weekly commitments you have. Don’t forget to include weekends and family time (this is most important).

After completing this exercise you should have a good visual of what your work week looks like. You should see openings in your week. Make your goal easy: try to find two hours you can commit to spend on your business. You should be able to re-prioritize some time.

2. Stay with the Schedule You Created and Re-Evaluate
The next thing you need to do is stick with your schedule. This can be tough because you are creating a new habit. Once you get the hang of your new routine, you should always re-evaluate your schedule. You may be able to find more time to spend on your home business.

Sticking with your schedule means you need to discipline yourself to work. This means that you have to find a way after work, after little league games, after dinner and after putting the kids to bed.

3. Don’t Forget Your Family.
Spending time with my family is always a top priority for me. I have young children so I try to focus on the business when my kids are in bed. I find that using the evening hours is best for me to spend on my home business. It seems to be the most quite part of the day.

If you have to use your family time to spend on your business, make sure you communicate with your family so they have an expectation of what you are doing. However, I would recommend that you set a time limit so you can spend that time you want with your family. This will provide balance for you.

4. Embrace Distractions
As we all know life also throws us off schedule. Try your best to embrace that fact instead of fighting it. If your child stays up late, focus on helping your child quiet down and go to sleep. Try not to focus on what you could be doing. Don’t worry. The work will still be there when you are ready.

If you have to stay late at your day job, then choose to work late. Usually, you’ll find that it is better just to focus on one thing at a time. You’ll be more efficient and effective. Having a clear and guilt free mind while working on your business is most productive.

To handle new ideas that can distract you while you are working, keep an MP3 Recorder handy so if an idea comes up you can record it or write down the idea in a notebook. You can always prioritize those thoughts at a later time. You will also find that you are using less energy dealing with distractions instead of fighting them.

So there is good news when it comes to finding time to work on your own business. Don’t despair and don’t get frustrated. Just remember that you have total control of your time and you alone can change your habits to build your businesses momentum.

Marketing and Advertising, although they sound similar but in reality they are not. Advertising is only a part of the bigger game called Marketing. Marketing encompasses complete conceptualization of a brand right from research to designing to advertising to sale. Advertising, on the other hand is a component of the marketing process which is nothing but conveying the message through variety of mediums to promote the product.

Advertising is one of the most important component of a marketing strategy and also the most expensive. Advertising constitutes sending the message across the public about your company, product or services. It also constitutes behind the scenes work like the process involving formation of various strategies and coming up with a right one to target the viewers. The strategy consists of planning things like placing ads, deciding what media to use, what time, frequency etc. The advertisements are generally placed via mediums like television, snail mail, newspapers, internet, emails, radio, magazines, mobile messaging, flyers, billboards etc. The most popular one is of course television although advertising on internet is becoming increasingly popular too.

Easiest way to differentiate advertising from marketing is to consider marketing as a cake and if you cut the cake, advertising as one of the pieces of that cake. The other pieces of cake are market research of the product, product designing, media planning, PR, product pricing, customer satisfaction, customer support, sales and many more. All these components or pieces of cake should work independently but collectively in achieving the bigger goal i.e. sell product and build company’s reputation in the market.

Marketing is a marathon process involving many tasks that involve hours sometimes days of research. The research part of marketing takes the longest duration as it involves thoroughly understanding the behavior of people towards a product. Designing the product and developing advertising strategy is also a time consuming process. Only components that take less time are executing advertisements and sales. Marketing can also be perceived as a medium between consumers and the company.

But many companies often make mistake of confusing advertising with marketing. They try to ape big companies like Coke and Pepsi in advertising but they simply ignore the work that goes behind that. The classical example of this is, take the case of logo for instance. Many business owners are so hysterical about the logo of their company in their advertisements that they think that it will simply bring in the sales. But what makes a logo works is none other than the reputation of the company and the logo must have a feeling to it and should truly reflect company’s values. One should also remember that these companies spend fortunes on advertising which a new start up business can’t.

Rather than spending unnecessary money on branding your product one should invest money and time in communicating to the consumers that they can address their expectations. After building reputation and growing to a big size company one can think of these lavish ideas. Educating the consumers also helps as it will give them an understanding that you know what you do and are best at doing that.

Smart marketers are aggressive in approach rather than passive. They provoke reader’s minds by prompting them to do something rather than just making them knowledgeable of the product. Smart marketers also bring home the names, addresses and contact numbers of people who are really interested in hiring your company by employing aggressive marketing. Thus having a good marketing campaign speaks a lot about the company and their products and advertising gives that finishing touch to the hard work done by the marketing people in selling a product.
This is known as Corporate Image which distinguishes the corporation from its competitors and provides a picture of it to the general public. It depicts the principles, beliefs, productivity of the company. This image is responsible for increasing the sales of the product and to achieve brand equity. Corporate image creation is a strenuous and time consuming process and is carried out by experts qualifying in perception management. Basically, the creation involves marketing experts who used various kinds of promotion methods and public relations. Since this image is targeted to attract the customers it should be highly appealing. Besides the marketing experts critics play an important role too.

The name of the corporation and its catch line should reflect its belief like Wal-Mart, which says that it sells for less. A logo should also be designed accordingly. Like the corporation FedEx has an arrow incorporated in its logo which depicts its fast and efficient service. Once the image is created by the corporation the next step is advertising and product distribution in the market. Like if the corporation creates luxury products, they should rope in big names in the advertising experts and the models to be featured in these ads should be super stars. Likewise, they should not distribute their products to every other store; instead they should target more hi-fi malls. Time to time, advertising and branding budget should be reviewed to cut down on cost and to be in-sync with the technology. This also helps in revamping the corporate image according to the fast changing demands of the consumer.

Testimonies of news papers, magazines, and labor union can deteriorate a well-created corporate image. Simplest of controversies can be exaggerated by the media and spoil the name of the company. Controversies are born by the interference of organizations related to environment, religion, crime, politics, education and charity. Government, too, is another powerful and influential organization by itself.

Once the corporate image is created, it should be retained. It should not be like here today and gone tomorrow. This image should be reflected in all the brands and product line of the corporation. Even if one of the products isn’t up to the mark, it will lead to confusion among the consumers and will hit the sales of the company. Like recently there was controversy about a particular contact lens solution of a company. It was supposed to be infecting the users with a rare disease. This not only affected the sales revenue of that particular product but also made the customers think and raise question about the authenticity of other products of that particular company.

Another company’s products had hidden non-vegetarian ingredient in a vegetarian product. This led to the decrease of trust among the customers. In such a case the company should either advertise itself as a company selling non-vegetarian food or it should invest in promoting the company as vegetarian by introducing more vegetarian products. So the image of each individual product of the company makes up for the complete image of the corporation. And last but not the least, the image should be very realistic, truly representing its values and should leave a personal touch with the consumers.

Ready to start your home based business?
Here's some facts that prevent most beginners from ever reaching that goal, and what you need to get started. The main question lies in the fact of whether you have what it takes to run a home based business?

Take the first steps now to starting your own business and get started right immediately.

The first rule is self motivation.
This is a key factor to getting started, so please don't pass it off. You must motivate yourself to take action in your life by redirecting and maintaining your attitude and ambition. What drives you to push yourself to the limit when the chance arises? Is it
your family, friends, certain environments, tight schedules, love, or maybe even the initial goal on everyone's mind... Money? Whatever thrives you the most is what you need to keep your mind set on during the initial setup. This is what can destroy a vast majority of new business owners during the preparation process. Don't ever lose sight on what is pushing your ambition to rise above.

Second is about attitude and confidence.
If you don't have a strong business attitude, then you will not survive in the business world. Be willing to do what it takes to succeed and don't make room for excuses. Excuses don't get the job done. If something needs to be initiated, or completed, then just do it and do it right. This is where confidence comes into play. You must be confident, but not preferably OVER-confident in your jouney to succeed. If you have absolutely no confidence in yourself, then get some fast. Everyone can have ambition to succeed given the correct incentive and measurements. Make your own destiny!

Don't wait for it to knock you down when you're not looking. You can take control and decide your fate for yourselves. Ambition is locked away in everyone's mind, so whatever it is you need to unlock that particular door, get it done. Clear your head from standard issues that will prevent you from succeeding for your future.

Now, set your mind to goal setting for a minute. What we want to do here is figure out what sort of goals you're looking to get out of life.

Where would you like to be right now?
How much money do you want to earn every week, month, or year?
Have you reached 50% of your goals yet?

This is a critical step in inspiration to push your agenda further than can be imagined. Imagine for a second that all of your bills are fully paid, but don't stop there.

Imagine all of your bills are paid for the next 5 years without a blink of an eye. Owning your own home, and maybe a beach house or two. Drive anything you want, because it didn't even chip your bank account to purchase it. Basically, how far do you want to go. Would this be considered greed? Absolutely! That is the reason for rapidly advancing technology, health-care drugs for longer survival and better health, and amazing opportunities that are available to the general public... which will also take us to the next step.

Money management is VERY important. If you cannot control your money, then you will need to learn better patience. Patience with money earned will keep you from losing it all, after it's been made. Control yourself, and control your money. Set your daily/weekly/monthly budget and enforce it! If you cannot control your funds now, then start today and write a strict budget. Keep your goals in mind always, so you don't make extravagant purchases that were not necessary. If you do reach high goals and use your money accordingly with investing, or other resources, then you will have plenty of time to "throw your money around". So, be sure your budget is set and let's move on to the next step.

Research, research, research! This is probably one of the MOST important steps that you are going to take in your business planning. Do your research thoroughly and make absolutely sure that your knowledge will cover everything you need to know. Information is the most valuable commodity and most everything you'll need to know can be easily obtained online right now. Find out exactly what you need to be happy in your life, and set your mind to it.

What do you have easy access to. There may be many things right under your nose, that you will kick yourself later for not thinking about it sooner. Find out what it is you enjoy. Don't always go with what your heart tells you in business, or you may not survive. Be truthful and realistic with yourself when deciding your business. Be sure that you WILL NOT LOSE MONEY. If you LOSE money from your business, then it's pointless to start in the first place.

Figure out what you want out of life. What is your primary goal? What type of schedule do you require? You can find the easy life, if you dig deep enough.

Do you have easy access to get started right now? Be sure that you know exactly what you are plunging yourself into. "Don't sink with a ship that has a near-sighted captain". What is the history of the businesses in the particular market that you're researching and what strategies were they using. You must find out whether the profit potential is endless? ...or does it have a cap-off point as well. How much time and work is it going to take to setup and ultimately operate?

Be sure to keep plenty of "you" time for yourself. You don't have to work 24 hours a day to achieve your goals. Residual income is the key to making effortless money and obtaining your rightful financial freedom. Make your business work for you, instead of the other way around. Remember, you are the driver.

You have the control to stop, go, and turn things around at any given point. You can start a business for less than a hundred dollars and turn it into a multi-million dollar success. So, do your research!

Now, we can move on to scheduling your business plan. Write it, or type it, and record it. This will take some time to think over and it definitely should. You should not rush this process by any means, since it will be YOU taking the action which will result in the overall consequences or rewards.

Figure out how much money you want to earn on a periodic basis, and be sure to set your goals into a progressive mode. Once you've reached this point, you will need to keep site of your goals and realize you are the ONLY one that is going to make the difference. Time is much too important to waste in any circumstances, so be very careful with your decision making performance. Always take care of your well-being. Your health always plays an important role when you are taking a new leap in life.

Take care for now and good luck finding your success!
Are you looking for something safer? If you don't take chances you're not going to win. Abolutely not! You stand to make much better money working for yourself and you're sure to be much happier being your own boss. Like anything in this World, you just need to be aware of what's really going on in your business arrangements. Don't be naive and think that everybody is a nice person.

This is BUSINESS! The rules are *almost* 'there are no rules'. Most businesses are dependable and trustworthy. They value your long term opinion of them because they are fully aware of your potential ability to bring (or prevent) business for them in the future. A saying in business goes 'if you'll only do business with people that you trust then don't bother trying to do business'. Here are a few tips to help keep your eyes open.

1. Partners - business partners can range anywhere from your best friend to a financial supporter to a franchise business. When it comes to partnership arrangements in business, NEVER accept a word of mouth arrangement. Even if your partner is your very best friend, make sure that written legal agreements are drawn up that specify in detail the ownership, compensation and responsibilities of each party in the agreement. Make sure the agreement is signed in the presence of witnesses who could be called into court and properly notarized. Also, be wary of payment in stocks or stock options when you don't have control over company stock splits and dilutions.

2. Marketers - new businesses start up by the thousands on an ongoing basis. Marketers know this and some prey on new businesses. They'll show you in graphs and statistics and eloquent words how you can make mega-bucks by using their strategies. Far too often, it is the marketers who make the money, not the businesses they're marketing. They know you won't come back and they don't care.

Even legitimate businesses can accidentally trap you. Take for example, Google AdWords. Open your Internet browser and go to www.google.com and search for any popular search words like say, 'scuba diving trips'. Notice on the right hand side 'sponsored links'. These are companies who pay Google each time a user, like you, clicks their link. Watch the 'sponsored links' for a given set of keywords (ie. 'scuba diving trips') for 3 months or longer. See if the ads (companies) don't frequently change. If they do, Google made money, not the business who placed the ad.

Otherwise, their link would stay there. Don't misunderstand, Google AdWords can make you a lot of money if *you* know how to work the ads. Another example is email SPAM. How many times have you purchased something from an email advertisement? So, who do you think makes money from the endless onslaught of email SPAM? Usually, it's the companies doing the SPAMming and not the companies who they are supposedly trying to sell products for. In general, if you see *one* given company using the same advertising over and over, it's working. Otherwise, it's probably not. Of course a business that does no marketing is doomed to a dismal failure. However, don't be duped by fast talking advertisers. Quite often, they make the money, not you.

3. Lawsuits - it is a bad practice to enter contractual arrangements thinking that other parties will not violate the agreement just to keep from getting sued. Take a trip to your local County Records department (or look it up on the Internet) and see how many judgements are still outstanding after 10 years or more. You may be shocked to find that a judge's ruling that somebody owes you money does NOT guarantee that you will get it. A person can just disappear and the government will not give you privileged information to help you find them.

A corporation can withdraw all their money, file for bankruptcy, close their doors and reopen as a different corporation. Also, quite often you'll find that it may be more expensive to sue someone than to count your losses and walk away. Business dealers know this and use it. If I illegally conned you out of $150.00 would you sue me for it? Even if you could it probably wouldn't be to your advantage. Or what if a business offered a '30 Day Money Back Guarantee' and then didn't make good on it? That con is a classic. When making business deals don't count exclusively on legalities to keep you out of trouble. Make sure the other parties in the deal have genuine motives to stick to the agreement.

Being in business for yourself can be very liberating and quite lucrative. But business is about making money. Most of us believe that we can do better for ourselves by engaging in genuine commerce. That is, we provide a genuine product or service for a price at or near the monetary market value of the product or service that we provide. That's what we call a 'win win' situation. Both the provider and the purchaser end up pleased with the outcome of the deal.

However, there are business dealers who deem it entirely ethical to take whatever they can from you, whether legally or illegally as long as they don't get hurt. Always be wary of business dealings like this. Try to work, within reason, with people who have already proven their trustworthiness and always try to foresee every potential outcome of any business deal you intend to engage.

With the cost of living quickly surpassing the wages (we make) necessary to maintain an “average” lifestyle, more and more employees are beginning to seriously consider the option of working from home.

Being your own boss, setting and keeping your own hours, keeping all (or most of the proceeds for yourself), saving on travel time and gas, allowing for as much vacation time as “necessary”, it all has its perks. It certainly seems that way, especially for many woman who may not want to stop working or can’t afford to, but also want to stay home with the kids or be home when they get back from school.

But, this growing trend, even with all its apparent benefits has many experts cautioning stay-at-home workers and warning them about the potential perils of home-based businesses due to common human error.

Some of the most common (and most damaging) include:
· Going In Blind: Sure you need confidence, guts and faith to start your own business, but you also need to know what your getting into, and that means diving FIRST into doing the necessary research about the type of business you are interested in starting. Experts suggest finding out as much as you can about your potential venture and about its potential for success in your area. Find out about your competition, note how much they are charging and pinpoint your target market. Rely on books, trade shows, conferences and the net to gather your materials and information.

· Becoming A Lone Venturer: Keep in mind that starting ANY business is difficult, especially in its initial stages. This is the most crucial time for you and your venture and you’ll need all the love and support you can get. One of the biggest mistakes, say experts that new entrepreneurs make is not getting the necessary support from spouse of family. Besides maybe helping with the housework or kids, he or she may also want to lend a hand in your business or at least lend support and encouragement as to work to get things going.

· Leaping Without A (Financial) Safety Net: Most of us are use to bringing home a specific amount of income (give or take) each week, an idea of having a “comfort” zone that most new business owners need to give up say experts. According to professionals, most new business owners won’t see a profit for several months. In fact, they suggest having at least six months (monetary) reserves on hand.

· Spreading Yourself Too Thin: While you certainly want to please the consumer and build your client base, it’s important to remember, that you won’t be able to please all of the people all of the time. They suggest not spreading yourself too thin by creating a mission statement for your business defining your purpose and your goals. Include what your business involves, what makes it stand out, and where you see yourself a few months to a year down the line. And, they add that you should make it a point to check your statement periodically and make all the necessary adjustments.

· Getting Too Comfortable: It’s easy to take advantage of being at home, especially when you don’t have to punch or Watch the clock. But, according to experts, sticking to a regular work schedule is imperative. Keep your schedule flexible (that’s what working from home is all about) but set limits and boundaries that will allow you to focus without any interruptions and be productive.

· Not Having A Space Of Your Own: For some a private office may not be feasible, especially if you’re a stay-at-home parent. But, according to experts, it’s imperative that you designate a specific space to conduct business. It is also important that you have all the necessary office essential to properly conduct your business. Sharing space and sometimes supplies is necessary, but you really should have your own for maximum efficiency.

· Selling Yourself Short: Want to beat your competition (price-wise) is a smart move, but seriously underbidding yourself and your worth may not be. Know what the competition is charging and make reasonable adjustments remaining firm and confident in what your product and ability…and always leave a little room for “play”.

· Putting Off The Paperwork: While most of us don’t enjoy the paper trail that often goes along with owning a business, it’s an essential part of operations, especially when it comes to keeping track of inventory and finances. Make sure to do all you shipping and receiving and related filing promptly, as well as sending out timely invoices. Keep in mind that most consumers take up to 90 days to pay, so you’ll need to bill them as soon as possible. And also, don’t forget to keep track of your own expenses to know what is coming in and what is going out.

· All Work And No Play: Just because you work from home doesn’t mean you never leave the house again. In fact, a very important part of any business is networking. So, think about maintaining your professional appearance and joining some professional organizations that can put you in touch with all the right people….and even though chat boards and blogs can offer you the same, making a personal appearance is ALWAYS a nice touch.

· Expecting Too Much: Considering working from home as anything but “work”. While you may have the freedom to make lots of your own decisions, you’ll also have a lot more responsibility, and that means learning how to manage your time (between work and career) like never before.

This post is about what it takes to succeed if you want to set up business
working from home. More and more people are looking at this form of work as it
has many advantages to it. There are however many pitfalls and you can easily
fall into negative traps which ultimately can end in failure for your small
business.

I now work from home and have been self-employed for around
ten years. I had previously worked in a large office environment and although
the pay was quite good, I soon became annoyed at my long commute to work and
also with some of the people I was working with. I have always wanted to be my
own boss, set my own hours and be able to take holidays when ever I wanted to.
Working from home seemed the perfect answer for me.

I run a small
business and do not employ anybody, it is just me. Now you may think that this
is great and I have to say for the most part it is. For the business to succeed,
I need to work very hard and I need to keep coming up with new ideas to keep
myself motivated and to keep the business alive. I have to admit, I am not a
Monday person and in the early days I found it very hard to actually do any work
on this particular day. Working on my own and not having anyone to answer to
made it very easy for me to just go back to bed for example. This of course did
not help my business and was something I had to get out of doing.

The
first tip therefore, is that you need to have self-discipline to make your home
based business work. Each week set yourself business goals of what you want to
achieve. Treat working from home like you are working in an office, do not be
tempted by watching the television or by any other distraction. You have to
ensure you put in the required hours to make the business the success you want
it to be.

The second bit of advice is to be careful what you eat. I fell
into a trap of eating a lot of snack type foods, and did not ever feel that I
had the time to cook myself a meal for lunch. I soon started to put on weight
and this caused me to lose some of my self-confidence. I needed all of my
self-confidence to keep up my belief that I could succeed at working from home.
I now make sure that I give myself an hour break for lunch and to re-charge my
batteries. I am also careful not to snack in between meals.

Thirdly you
are likely to experience good months and bad months, financially. It is
important therefore that you start saving so that when you are having a bad
period, you have the cashflow to keep the business going. Also keep some money
aside to pay the taxman. When I first became self-employed I loved the fact that
I did not need to pay tax each month. When I received my yearly tax bill it was
quite a shock however and I have since started to put an amount aside each month
to cover it.

Most businesses have these peaks and troughs. When business
is not going so well, it is very easy to become downhearted and even depressed.
I found this working by myself, I had nobody to pick me up from these lows. I
have since realised that feeling sorry for myself is not going to help the
situation, therefore I have to work even harder during these periods and that I
have to keep thinking positive.

I hope you have enjoyed reading this post
and I wish you every success with your home based business.

Here are the 5 pillars to have a successful Home Business:

1 - Hustle:

Generally, people who make it big have one
thing in common—they are dissatisfied with the status quo. They will not take
what is “common” or “expected” and let that define their lives—they move past it
and excel. You must work hard and hustle.

2 - Character:

Someone coined the phrase, “character is what you do in the dark.”
In other words, when no one is looking, will you behave differently than if
someone was looking? If not, then you have character. If you are attacked, be
tough—not hard. Don’t be a pushover, but be compassionate, gentle, and
flexible—especially on procedure (not principle).

3 - Risk
Taking:

This isn’t gambling, it’s a willingness to be bold, hearty, and
to push forward. People who refuse to take risks are definitely going to lose.
If you refuse a new promotion because you’re not confident of your skills, you
will likely be passed over when a different chance arrives.

Don’t be
afraid of rejection, just take it as part of life and you’ll find there’s
nothing to be afraid of—especially in the word “no.” “No” is just another
opportunity to find a way around an obstacle and to use creative problem-solving
skills.

4 - Time Management:

We all know that one minute has 60
seconds and that one hour has 60 minutes. One day has 24 hours, and one year has
365 days. But one year also has 525,600 minutes. We don’t think about a year in
such small increments, but maybe we should.

We waste minutes as if
they’ll always be around, and the fact is that time wasted is time we can never
get back. We might miss a deal or promotion of a lifetime by wasting just a few
minutes.

Proper time management is essential as you climb to success.
Continue to break goals down in to manageable chunks—do that with relation to
your day and the time you’ve been given. You’ll accomplish far more this way and
you won’t regret using your time wisely.

5 - Master Non-Verbal
Communication:

It is said that our body language and facial expressions
do much more communicating than our words will ever do. When the words that you
speak don’t match the expressions on your face or the stance of your body, you
confuse the listener and muddle your message.

Be aware that when you try
to “multi-task,” you often end up short-changing something, and the last thing
you want is to short-change people. Don’t try to do too much at once—your
willingness to do this tells people they aren’t important, even if you’re
expressing your appreciation of their work and effort.

Be aware of what
message your body is sending off!
Due to the hardships brought on by our country’s current economic situation, many people are looking to a Home-Based Business as a means of income. Job loss due to downsizing or other reasons, is motivating people to find alternate ways of supporting themselves and their families. A successful home-based business can afford you a comfortable lifestyle in regard to both working environment and monetary reward.

If you have decided you would like to start a home-based business, there are several issues that need to be thought-out and realized in terms of legality. You must consider the legal issues as well as your local zoning regulations, in addition to any restrictions on the use of your property for business purposes. Municipal policies determine what types of businesses can be run from your home.

These regulations vary by city, so you will want to do some research in this area. You can look up the regulations for your town by visiting the local zoning board or law library. You will also need to talk to an accountant or read information from the IRS on the issues of tax deductions regarding home businesses.

Another consideration is that many home-based businesses require state licenses for things like child care, auto repair and private investigation. After you have researched your town's regulations on home businesses, be sure to contact your local government office and ask about what agency, if any, regulates your planned business and what you need to do to obtain a license.

Avoid a costly mistake and look into obtaining business insurance. Your home-owners policy may not provide enough coverage especially for things like equipment damage and even client injury if you will be conducting meetings in your home.

Once you’ve got all of those issues satisfied, you should be thinking about the internal workings of your business. Staying organized requires a good deal of effort for some people, but it benefits you greatly in the long run. If you will be receiving and sending large amounts of mail and/or packages, it might be better to set up an external mail service. Then designate an area of your home to be used for sorting and also preparing out-going mail.

You don’t want to cover up your workspace with papers and boxes which may become misplaced and disorganized. A separate email account used solely for your business is another way to ensure consistent communication with your customers. Customer service is what will make or break your business so it is wise to stay on top of things within your devised system to ensure satisfaction and ultimately bring in repeat business.

Running a home based business is convenient and costs less but requires a great deal of time and energy to make it successful. When you make a decision to earn income from a home based business you will need to follow some basic steps and guidelines to be successful.

A business operated from home starts and ends with self-discipline. It is easy to give in to all the temptations that are present at home. Be it staying in bed longer on a cold morning, watching television, or surfing the web if you do not commit yourself to your home based enterprise, it will fail before it begins. No wonder 96% of the population that begins a home based business fails within the first few months. Self-discipline also applies to the basic day to day operation of your home business. As a home business owner if you do not see to record keeping, book keeping, marketing and other duties then your home business will eventually fail.

Another thing that can either make or break your home business is your attitude. Treat your home business like a business. This is critical whether you are working part-time or full-time. Always have a full-time attitude even when you are working part-time. Do not treat your home business like a hobby. Hobby attitude will produce hobby income. Have a business attitude and you will earn business income. Most people who decide to work from home end up working in their "spare time" and the business fails within few months if not days.

When operating a business from home make sure to create a space that you call your own, free from distractions for your scheduled time. Make sure to have a comfortable chair, an organized desk, and stationary supplies (pens, highlighters, stapler, hole puncher, sticky tape, note book(s), a simple filing system, manilla folders, etc.....). If your home business is an Internet business then consider the value of a broadband connection. Your time is valuable and a broadband connection will allow you to get more done in a given time frame.

Scheduling is the backbone of a home business. Develop a schedule that works for you, your family and business. Only work for your home business during the time you have scheduled for it. Do not do business work during the time you have alloted for other activities (family time, reading, exercise, leisure time, etc.) Your schedule is your "boss." Are you committed to your home business success? What will be your choice in situations, for example, when people calling you or dropping around unexpectedly or maybe out-of-town visitors may want to catch up with you? You are the person who decides what is important to you. Decide wisely.

Confindently and concisely describing your business in a few sentences is extremely powerful. Work on creating a short description which can easily be remembered by others so they can tell their family and friends about it. Remember word of mouth is very powerful.

Know your product or service "from the back of your hand" before you decide to market or sell it. Customers are interested in purchasing a quality product or service. Provide quality information about your product or service and you will definitely become a preferred supplier. Remember the product or service that you are marketing or selling may not be something you use yourself, it just needs to be something you believe in and know intimately. For example, women may choose to sell men's products (and vice versa) and still know the benefits and features to satisfy customers.

Be a good record keeper early on as you begin your home business. You will be glad in the long run and will sleep better too. You may need a tax advisor to consult about the best way to set up your financial records. Your advisor can also point out what records are important to keep. Also, you may obtain an advice on the best arrangement for your bank accounts. You should and will be advices to create a seperate bank account for your home business. If your home business is an Internet based business you may want to check out www.treepad.com and www.roboform.com to help you keep track of your logins, usernames and passwords. Both of these tools are very handy and can save you a lot of time.

Also, when operating a home business that is Internet based it is extremely important that you protect your computer and the data that is stored therein. You must invest in software(s) that provide virus protection, personal firewall, anti-spyware, anti-adware, and preferably an e-mail scanner.
Some recommendations are:

AVG Anti-Virus: http://www.grisoft.com
Spybot S&D: http://www.safer-networking.org
Microsoft Anti-Spyware: www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx
Adaware: http://www.lavasoft.com/
Mailwasher Email Scanner: http://www.mailwasher.net.

Along with working hard it is important to work smart. Follow the advice above and you will surely succeed. "You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose."

Making money on the internet by building a home based business starts with figuring out what your special, niche interest is. A niche interest is the one subject in which you consider yourself to be an expert. If you're lucky, you may be a relative expert in more than one thing. Are you especially good at fixing bikes? Do you know everything there is to know about collecting stamps? If you're interested in it, chances are, there are a slew of other people who are, too.

Your interest is the key to a successful home based internet business. If you don't care about what you're selling or the services you have to offer, then your heart won't be into your business. You must want more than just money to make a successful business. You have to be passionate in what you have to offer in order to communicate that passion to your customers.

After you've chosen your niche interest and a focus for your business – let's say, fixing bikes – now you need a turnkey Internet marketing system to create income for you. Where are you most likely to find people who will be interested in your site and the products you have to offer? Certainly, there are brick and mortar establishments like bike shops where people would see your advertisements, but for an online store, your marketing should focus on the Internet. Go where bike riders go – forums, blogs, chat rooms. Start your own blog. Be the place where those who want to fix their bikes or buy a new bike go to learn what they need, and then offer it to them.

To get high rankings in search engines and be the business that comes up as a resource when people search for terms that are associated with your chosen business, you have to continually provide fresh, new content that contains those keywords. This is part of why blogging is such a popular Internet marketing tool. Blogging requires you to post new information and observations pertaining to your business and industry regularly, even daily. This piles up the keywords for the search engine spiders to find and helps to raise you in the rankings.

All of this adds up to more traffic to your online home business, which means more customers, higher sales, and a better overall profit margin for you. Creating wealth online and making money on the Internet is as simple as finding the thing you are best at, creating a website for it, offering high quality products and services at a reasonable price, marketing those products where the advertising will be seen by those who need your product, and getting them to come to your online business website and see what you have to offer.

No matter what type of home based business you are running (or plan to build) you will likely have competition. Most people think competition is a bad thing – and if you try to take on your competition “head on” it probably is.

On the other hand, you can use your competition to learn how to service customers in a different way – a “unique” way – that can make you very successful!

How Can You Make Your Home Based Business Unique?

For example, selling home videos. DVD’s, and electronic games is nothing new. And unfortunately for most “mom-and-pop” video stores, Blockbuster came along, and put most of them out of business.

So why bother even trying to sell videos and DVD’s, right? Well, it depends.

Opening another video store would probably be difficult – having the ability to order 20-30 copies of all the popular videos would probably be too costly for most people.

But NetFlix didn’t look at competing directly with Blockbuster. The owners decided to rent the same products, but in a completely different way – online and through the mail.

That’s an example of a Unique Selling Proposition!

How can you create a USP (Unique Selling Proposition) for your business?

Answer the following 5 questions:
1. What does your business sell, and who do you sell it to?
2. What benefits (not products or services) does your business offer to your customers?
3. What does your business do best?
4. What part of your business needs the most improvement?
5. What do you offer that you do better –or different – than your competitors?

If you need help coming up with ideas for the last one – which is the most important question to answer – go out and “shop” your competition:
• read their ads
• check the yellow pages
• do a search online and compare websites
• buy a product (or ask a friend or family member, if possible)
• join a small business association

Then, narrow down your USP into one or two sentences, and do it – with every letter you write, every ad you place, every customer you serve, every plan you make – and include your Unique Selling Proposition.

If you can make your business different from the rest – and stand out above the competition – you’ll be well on your way to success!

If you’re hearing the song that Bachman-Turner-Overdrive made famous in the 60s, that’s exactly what I want! I’m not talking about “business” in a strictly financial sense, but “business” with the idea that whatever you’re shooting for success-wise, you complete your tasks.

Once you have a course plotted for success, there are going to be a million things that will vie for your attention and time. It’s not that these things haven’t been there before now, and it’s not even that the world is plotting against you succeeding. It’s just that now you have a focus and you’ll begin to notice things that seem like they shouldn’t be on your radar screen.

It doesn’t mean that you don’t do the little pesky things that are buzzing and want to be taken care of (especially if it relates to your job), just that you must not let those things pull you off-track.

So how do you stay on-task? The best way I’ve found, bar none, is to keep a log of tasks that must be accomplished as you move towards your goal. Remember to break the big tasks in to a series of small ones and to give yourself a reward-system as you do it. I use check-marks; others use stickers (sounds silly, but if it works for you, who cares?), still others use tangible rewards as they accomplish “x” number of small or large tasks.

Whatever motivates you is your key—keep it simple and keep it attainable. If the carrot is too far out in front of the horse, the horse will give up. If it’s just close enough to smell and see but just out of reach, that horse will keep moving towards the incentive.

Let’s say your goal is to lose 60 pounds. That’s quite a chunk of weight and can take a long time to accomplish. Let’s also say that you need a new wardrobe. Should you wait until all the weight is gone to buy those new clothes? Probably not—your current closet full of clothes will look awfully loose and ill-fitting if you do.

But let’s talk about small, incremental rewards that help move you towards your goal. If you lose 10 pounds, your current clothes won’t look baggy on you, but you will notice a difference in your waistband that might bother you. Don’t chuck the pants or go buy a new pair—take the current ones to a seamstress or tailor to be taken in.

It’s a small reward and saves you the money of buying new pants that you will continue to shrink out of. It also keeps you motivated. For the next 5 or 10 pounds, think about some new cosmetics or a new hairstyle—small things that will make you feel better, inside and out.

Takin’ care of business and staying on task. Now that’s the way to chart yourself to success!
